Architect

Skills Required
  • Thorough understanding of nTier application design and development.
  • Thorough understanding of inter-process communication protocols.
  • Thorough understanding of web and distributed processing development technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of web/application server design principals.
  • Thorough understanding of data handling, access and storage.
  • Understanding of network design principals.
  • Understanding of data and transactional security design principals.
  • Understanding of server hardware configuration issues.
  • Hands-on experience with the following:
    • Java and/or C++.
    • Server side development technologies with servlets, JSP and EJB preferred.
    • Object Oriented technologies.
    • Application Server development - Websphere, Domino preferred.
    • Relational databases.
    • Cross platform experience with any of the following: NT, Unix, AS/400, Mainframe.
  • Proven record of translating business requirements into a technical infrastructure.
  • Full project life cycle development experience.

Duties
  • Gather and document functional requirements.
  • Document current technical infrastructure.
  • Research and clearly communicate recommended and alternative solutions to a low level of detail.
  • Based on the results of the above duties, create for the client a clear and understandable view of the project direction, the technologies to be used, the development team, the cost and time estimates, and the areas of risk.
  • Ensure the compliance of multiple projects to the stated technical architecture.
  • Produce reuse and software integration guidelines for each project.
  • Maintain a high level of expertise on the current technical trends within the industry.
  • Organize and lead internal Arkay training programs.
  • Support the Arkay sales group and meet with prospective clients.
